Disney Animal Kingdom

Though Disney World’s Animal Kingdom was opened more than a decade ago, it still attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. Spread across more than five hundred acres, the Animal Kingdom was the fourth park to be built at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The Kingdom has options for people of all ages and the entire family is guaranteed to have some great fun together in the park.

This park takes pride in being a lot more than just a modern zoo. Though there are large animal displays at many places in the park, most animals are seen in almost natural surroundings. The barricades between you and the animals are also subtle but safe so that you get the maximum thrill from your visit.

This park opens with the Oasis, which leads to the central hub of the park called the Discovery Island. Along the way through the Oasis, you are able to see many exotic birds and animals in animal enclosures. The Discovery Island has the famous Tree of Life as well as a number of eating and shopping joints. Since it is the Animal Kingdom, most shops sell animal themed products only. There are both counter service and table service restaurants on the island and all of them offer some delicious mouth-watering dishes.

Through the Discovery Island, you will have the option to go to either one of the two continent themed areas (Asia and Africa) or to Camp Minnie Mickey. While at the camp, kids will be able to meet their favorite cartoon characters in summer camp setting, in the rides through the two ‘continents’, you will be able to come close to various African and Asian animals, both carnivorous and herbivorous.

In addition to these places, the park also has the crazy Expedition Everest Ride, DinoLand U.S.A for dino lovers, Rafiki’s Planet Watch and various stage shows and parades.
