London England

Everyone has a different idea of what makes an ideal trip. Some people gravitate toward tourist activities like bugs to a lamp. Others try to avoid any known tourist destination on principle alone. Still others simply want to experience a city for the true value of its culture. No one way to travel is better and being willing to blend the methods will most likely lead to the most satisfying experience.

London England is one of the world’s largest cities. It is loaded with his history from hundreds of years of civilized peoples populating the streets, lanes, homes, stores and pubs. Like New York City or Paris, the city cannot be toured well in a less than a month, but like New York and Paris, just one day in the city can spark a life-long love affair.

If you can afford just three days in the city you should visit Westminster Abbey, the Courtauld Institute of Art and of course Buckingham Palace. Each one these locations have a common bond. They are popular tourist attractions. However, with three days, you can sprinkle in other activities that are less well known and still enjoy some of the cornerstones of a city with a storied past.

Westminster Abbey is old. It was erected in the year 960, a fortress of worship for the Catholic faith. Beyond the symmetry of spires, intricacy of windows, and the detailed stone engraving, this church evokes a sense of awe that leaves visitors stunned silent. Any visitor is going to have a difficult time not being overwhelmed with emotion and respect when setting foot in the Abbey. There is nothing like it anywhere in the U.S, or for that matter the world.

For a less majestic viewing, you should attend the Buckingham palace. If you want to avoid massive crowds but have just a glimpse of what is within, attending the Palace Guard passing of the keys is a perfect time to stop in. The guards have become as much a part of the palace as the stone structure itself. To see such discipline will inspire respect in any viewer. The palace looks exactly as you might picture a house of royalty to.

For your last event, making a trip to the Courtauld Institute of Art is in order. It is among the premier art museums in the world. The paintings of Vincent Van Gough and Francisco Goya adorn the walls along with dozens of other renowned artists. This is a stop somewhat off the well-beaten path and one worth mining.
